1. Forum Group Discussion KADIN:

Bhetochar partnered with the Agriculture sector of Kamar Dagang dan Industri (KADIN) Indonesia and NexBio Tech in a Forum Discussion held at Menara Kadin Jakarta themed

“Biochar sebagai pembenah tanah: Inovasi berkelanjutan dalam membangun pertanian masa depan”

We invited Prof. Dedi Nursyamsi, a pioneer in agricultural and biochar innovation from the Ministry of Agriculture, and Dr. Etty Pratiwi, a senior researcher and microbiologist from BRIN, to share their valuable insights. The discussion explored how biochar can become a key driver for improving soil health and empowering sustainable farming practices.

2. Partnership with farmer groups:

Ensuring traceability and transparency at every step of our biochar value chain is how we walk the talk. We made sure our feedstock sources are within a close radius of our production facility and we connected with local farmer groups to understand their offers and needs. With their permission we geotagged their bamboo sources and, with the support of our partners at Environmental Bamboo Foundation, we disseminated the sustainable method of harvesting.

1. Women-led biochar production workshop in Nagekeo, Flores

The idea for this workshop began with a simple yet powerful question: How can we enable a successful women-led biochar enterprise in East Nusa Tenggara? In collaboration with our partner, the Environmental Bamboo Foundation — a renowned organization in bamboo-based restoration initiatives — we designed a program that supports the principles of a restorative economy and women’s economic empowerment. Drawing on Bhetochar’s scientific expertise and precision tools, we created a five-day workshop to explore what types of biochar can be effectively produced at the community level, while aligning with women’s existing skills, available time, and daily work patterns. This initiative lays the foundation for inclusive, locally driven participation in sustainable biochar production.
